Growing up basketball was our everyday routine. After school, we would pack a ball and head to the neighborhood courts. It was our space to unwind, a place where we felt comfortable being ourselves.
The best part was the crew we played with. On the court, we discovered the value of hard work, the importance of honesty, and the strength to overcome our challenges. We learned what it takes to GROW.
Off the court, these were lessons that stuck with us. The confidence we gained and the friendships we made have lasted. Hoops N' Mind is inspired by those everyday games, by the way basketball helped us GROW.
Hoops N' Mind is our way of giving back. It's about creating a space where underserved youth in Prince William County (including first-generation immigrants, minority and people of color, low-income, or from troubled homes) can feel comfortable, build their confidence, and discover their strengths. It's about fostering friendships and learning life skills, teamwork, and work ethic. We believe that mental well-being is just as important as physical health, and that by working together, we can all reach our full potential.
Join us, and let's build something special – where everyone has the chance to find their own rhythm, their own support system, and their own path to success. It all starts with a friendly game, shared goals, and the belief that we can GROW great together.
