At Hoops N’ Mind, our mission has always been to provide a space where "Ball, Learn, and Grow" isn’t just a slogan, but a pathway to success. We believe that the discipline found on the court, the resilience to bounce back, the focus to execute, and the heart to support a teammate, is the exact same foundation needed to thrive in life.
The Youth Scholarship is the highest expression of that mission. It is designed to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity, ensuring that financial barriers do not stop our young leaders from reaching their highest goals.
We are proud to name our inaugural scholarship in honor of Taalibah S. Hassan, a dedicated educator and community pillar whose decades of service has an enduring impact in Prince William County.
By investing in this fund, we aren't just giving a grant; we are carrying forward Mrs. Hassan’s legacy of integrity and community uplift. We are looking for students who embody her spirit, those who lead with compassion and demonstrate the Hoops N’ Mind GROW in their academic and personal lives.
Our journey begins with a first-year goal of $9,000. However, our eyes are on the horizon. We are actively building a $50,000 endowment fund to ensure that this scholarship remains a permanent resource for the youth of our community for generations to come.
Whether you are a donor, a mentor, or a student, you are part of this story. Together, we can ensure that every young person in our program has the resources they need to transition from the court to the classroom, and eventually, into a career of impact.
